I received email notification from the DE registrar yesterday that I'm accepted but I was already listed as accepted on the PCA Potomac website for about the last 3 weeks.

From what I've heard, the class is pretty full. However, still good idea to try and register. Waitlist is worst case. Cancellations are still possible between now and 4/14.

My credit card was charged yesterday for HPDC, so I'll definitely be there. Unfortunately, my car won't be ready, so I'll be the guy in the red Mazda 3. It's ok, though....I'll probably be less criticized for driving a Mazda than I would be for driving my 944.

Probably right. But then in either case no one will ask if they can drove your car

The way it worked when I was doing it is the registrar accepts people until the run group is full, or there are not enough instructors to go around. Then you get waitlisted. If slots open up, or instructors sign up, people can go from wait list to accepted. At a fixed time before the event, an email gets set to all the accepted folks in a run group. At another point in time before the event, the credit cards get charged. So, it is normal that you can track your progress to accepted on the web site weeks before you get an acceptance email - that's just the way the process goes.

I hit everyones' credit cards during the past two or three days that have already been accepted (by the DE Register)......but that is the limit of my "job" as Potomac's Cashier. Others more powerful than I balance those signing up with the number of instructors. Since this is pretty much a totally volunteered instructored event.....one of the constraints on how many are accepted is how many instructors volunteer to come out for the day.

p.s., in case folks are worried, I only see the last four numbers of their credit card. Their info is quite secure from "volunteers" like me.

Is there a methodology for how instructors get assigned to students? When will I find out who my instructor will be?
