Unhappy RIP Steve Weiner

For those (besides me) that had not already heard, I saw this morning that Steve passed away on April 26th. A sad update for those who interacted or followed Steve Weiner on 911S Registry or Pelican Parts. He was a great source of knowledge and willing to share what he knew. I enjoyed many years following his posts, exchanging emails and an occasional phone chat. He will be missed.

Wow.. Haven't heard that name (regularly) in what feels about 20 years. I recall him being a suspension guru, in particular for the "old" cars.. (aircooled 911s) and around 2003 when I upgraded my SC's suspension and another buddy was upgrading his 911S we used to say "Steve suggested xx - what do you think? ". Sorry to hear of his passing.

He was such a definitely resource years back. Many of us used his advice for setup of our '80s 911s. Thanks Steve, and RIP.

I used his advice when I re-did my '86 Carrera suspension. He as a great resource. RIP.

Ditto. The suspension in my car is 100% attributed to Steve. I talked to him many, many times - he was a great guy and forgot more about Porsches than most people will ever know.

In addition to him being excellent at what he did, he had no compunctions about sharing that knowledge. You could phone him and then discuss things with him for 40 minutes even if you weren't buying anything at the time. And I know this because of Jazzbass who first put me in touch with him (as a reminder, Chris, it was after I bought your stiffer torsion bars redoing the suspension on the Gold Targa).
