Tell Ben to choose a different weekend.

Dr K is absolutely right. I'm registered for MO because I wouldn't miss it. Was 00 there this year.

But it would literally take 3 minutes to make that spreadsheet. Ben could do in 30s.

tracking is one thing. all the calls and emails back and forth for each change is another.

Well, if it's a matter of keeping or canceling the event... Perhaps have a minimum 10% charge even if cancelled and the event then fills, so people won't just sign up without at least trying to find out potential conflicts. My point is, we can make this easier to swallow for potential drivers. I'd be willing to handle contacting up to 10 drivers for cancellation/refunds. I'll bet Ben and JD would take a couple, too. It's easy to find reasons why not to do something, but almost as easy to find ways to do it.

The event will not 'fill'; it won't even come close unless something drastically changes.

And yet there has been ZERO email blast or any other source of targeted distribution. It is in red text on the Potomac homepage but it isn't prominently visible and that site isn't visited regularly; talking about it on dorkiphus, and even announcing it at the DE meetings, is good but missing part of the potential audience.

How about an email to every registered participant on the past DE logs and every instructor on file for the past few years? Even this may not stimulate sufficient registrants given the risk of losing one's long-lead registration fees, but without effective communication it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Seems now is the time to pull out all the stops and promote the event as much as possible. Sending a broadcast email and make it a flashing banner on the PCA Potomac home page and the DE home page. Perhaps send the notice to every PCA region near the track and request that they forward to their members.

Have we talked to any other clubs yet (Corvette club comes to mind). Doesn't need to be a formal co-sponsoring, but even something informal might significantly increase registration.
