Bull nose makes sense as do slightly longer. I hated the 996 bolts! But never got around to changing to studs once we stopped tracking it.

I run 15mm and 7mm spacers (rear/front) on my 981. Works fine clearance wise with 18” rims. Personally though I don’t get the whole wheel stud thing. I use a wheel hanger when I change tires and it works quickly and well.

I've been using studs for a long time. I find it quicker and easier to mount the wheels. Use red loctite when you install. After all the heat cycles it just takes a little muscle to remove, but you don't want them backing out at the track is my thought. I also replace every year or two and just replaced a two year old set in March this year. If you do it yourself, there's Youtube videos to show you how. Always start the lug nuts by hand to make sure you don't cross thread.

I get them from https://www.race-studs.com

M14x1.5 ACS Race Series Studs - M14x1.5 Race Stud - 65mm
14mm Porsche Steel Lug Nuts

These are the short bull nose. I run 7mm spacers in the front with the Hoosiers and a lot of camber. Any thicker than that should go to a larger size.

YMMV

^^ X2, those are the brand I use. I purchased unnecessary longer ones.

I thought this thread would be full of nothing but pictures of Hunt, Scott, and Robbie.

Never been so happy to be disappointed

Wait until I drive near you with my 300mm studs. Just like in speed racer.

Or I'll just use these hub caps.

I added wheel studs to my first Boxster, but don't think it's worth the hassle to install / loctite / change out 20 studs every other years (plus $$$ for the studs) vs. sticking with stock bolt and locating pins.

We did 20-30 days a year (!) back then and it was a 2-driver car, and still was barely worth it and as much labor of love. (I thought they were worth 2/10ths a lap!)

Just my opinion bull noses are unsightly, especially if you need extra length for spacers (so they stick out a lot when you are not running them.)
