Maybe a small amount, but I think the "width" is dictated by the primary frame/construction of the trailer. You may be able to widen at the top slightly, by angling the primary uprights, but I don't think you can gain more than 1/2 inch or so. You may also be able to install spacers in the mounting points at the bottom, but I'm not sure that's structurally a good ides. The single upright at the top moves quite a bit up & down, but IIRC, the rest of the tire rack is not adjustable.

Oh, I don't have a trailex. I have an old Econo with a box frame to hold the wheels. You can raise the top portion up to put the wheels in, but it won't lower all the way over 18s. So I have to strap them in and then the crossbars crease the tires, and they don't fit very well.

I'd like to update it to something more like the trailex tire rack.

Agreed. Any way maybe my comment will help those contemplating larger diameter trailer wheels.

Post pics. It sounds like it would be an easy mod.

Anybody have a recommendation for replacing a Trailex axle closer to Montgomery County, MD? My trailer is otherwise recently tuned up but they didn't have time to replace the axle. Since I'm not in my way to VIR right now, might as well bring it someplace tomorrow for that repair. Thanks in advance.

Any recommendations for trailer repair in Northern Virignina? Or do I take it west towards Leesburg and Summit Point?
These guys did a bit of work on my old Trailex ‘97’ last year when I bought it.

I used the Taneytown location.

Thanks, all. Karl - Manassas is only half as far as Taneytown...why did you choose to go all the way up there?

Once you get out of Metro DC, prices are more reasonable and these guys do great work.

Thanks. I also notice they're an official Trailex dealer. Still, too far for my busy schedule.
