Was an OK race. Can't wait to see it on tape. Thay had 4 support races. MitJet and a local formula along with Porsche Super Cup and GP2. GP2 is great!! Much better in person. If they have the USGP again, they should have it here. Oh and BTW, always buy stand seats. General admission sucks (and this from a certified cheapskate!).

Amazing that they allowed the Ferrari to run with a "dangerous condition." Any other team and he would have been brought in "for repairs." Oh well. It was certainly Ferrari's day.

Any photos from the race? You were there, right?

The collector finally separated 10 laps or so from the end of the race. It had been flailing around for quite some time by then, and according to Peter Matchett, the lambda sensor lead was the only thing restraining it from flying off.

When it DID fly off, the thing went whipping what looked like 30'+ in the air. It looked extremely light, but a nice little length of Ti pipe at a toasty 1500F would not be something you'd want catch in the cockpit.

Battle for 3rd place at the end was a nice bonus at the finish. What are the "rubbin" rules in F1? Sure looked like the Italian initiated contact to protect his position.

I don't know that you can pull up on the outside of someone in braking and expect the leading car to take a tight turn in for you in F1. I don't think we saw the incident from Trulli's Toyota, but he could argue that he just held his line as I think Hobbs or one of the other Speed guys commented.

Hiedfeld sure was off the pace.

Trulli definitely appeared to drift wide and make wheel contact after Kovalainen had established his car level with Trulli, but that's part of the F1 game. Trulli's little shove could very easily have resulted in a wheel bind, which woudl have taken both cars out in a nasty way. If that had happened, Trulli's driving woudl have drawn soem serious criticism.

He got away with it, and got on the pdium for the first time since Spain 2005. I think it might be Toyota's first podium since Hungary that same year.
