2003 Audi Avant
So, while I was looking for a new DD toy, the realization was that my 16 y/o was going to need some basic transportation as well. So, I've put my search on pause and grabbed this one for him instead.
2003 Audi 3.0 Avant. Tiptronic. 125K miles. Bought from a friend(?) in NJ. Trucked down and arrived this weekend. Bought sight unseen besides a few pics. Needs some elbow grease for sure. Spent time vacumming and cleaning. Realizing that the hood strut is a good as my 944 was when I got it too. So, used the same temporary strut for now. Bought some parts from ECS tuning to address some immediate issues. Where else do folks sort Audi parts? Any local (Nova - Fairfax/loudoun county border) Audi shops or decent indy's to recommend?

You could try getting parts from https://www.getaudiparts.com . It's the same group as getPorscheParts.com, and run out of the BMW dealership in the Briggs Chaney Auto Park in Silver Spring, off of Rt 29. I haven't tried buying any Audi parts from them, but their prices for new Porsche parts are among the best I've found. Plus, you can pick up from them instead of having it shipped (if you prefer).

My favorite source for Audi/VW and cheaper than ECS: https://www.germanautoparts.com/
Excellent customer service in my experience.

Best dealer price is from audiusaparts.com out in Oregon. Free shipping if you order enough. I'll use getaudiparts.com if I need it quickly, or for things that are oversize/overweight so I can go pick it up.
Otherwise I tend to use Europaparts.com They seem to do a good job at picking non-oem versions that work. Quick shipping from NJ. Occasionally rockauto will have a much better price, particularly for A/C or clutch parts. The bane of these cars is the front suspension. It wears out every 70k miles - bad bushings or ball joints. Stupid expensive if you get OEM parts. I've had the best luck with the Meyle HD full suspension kits. BTW feel free to PM me if you have any questions. I've done just about everything on my S4/A4s, some things twice. Don't have any firsthand knowledge on the V6s however.

Bill and Jeff, thanks for the feedback!
We've had about a dozen Audi/VW cars over the years. I guess I never had a chance!
