Default Trailer Hitch Installers

Can anyone recommend a reputable shop in the NoVA [Loudoun / Fairfax co] area to install a trailer hitch on a 2012 Dodge Durango? I am looking to get my 951 out of storage and carry it back from TN.

The factory hitch is bolt-on, and the truck should be pre-wired for lights/brake controller (7-pin). This is not a difficult install, but if your Durango didn't have factory hitch install, you will want to have a transmission cooler installed before such a long tow. Maybe you can convince a certain Dorki with a 2006 Durango (that is already set up to tow) to trade vehicles with you for a few days...

I had not considered the transmission cooler. My model does not have any pre-wiring unfortunately. Good news is that my father offered up his Ram pickup what is plenty powerful to tow a 951 and he has a friend that my loan us a trailer [win...win...WIN]

And congrats to you for making sure you have a tow vehicle and trailer lined up before starting to drive a 951 again

Made it back last night. The ordeal to get it back was pretty painful. The trailer I was supposed to use had a bad tire, jerry rigged wiring, expired registration, broken wiring harness and a questionable floor.

The nice part is that I was able to secure one from Uhaul for a killer price. In fact it was cheaper to rent the trailer than it would would have been to get the other one up to speed.
