I have the same in the garage, complete with car number on hood and tire marks (and a story to go with it... Damn Hoosier...)

I want to hang it on the garage wall. Should I gut the support on the back so it won't stress the hanger as much, or is that not worth the effort?

I’d just use the heavy picture hangers! A couple of eye hocks on the hood w/some wire between them.
