2017 Porsche Cayman
Premium Package - 6-Speed Manual - Sports Exhaust - BOSE - Apple CarPlay - 20" Satin Black Carrera S Wheels - Heated Multifunction Steering Wheel - Premium Package includes bi-xenon headlights including Porsche Dynamic Light System, 2-zone automatic climate control, Heated Seats, automatically dimming mirrors with integrated rain sensors, and power sport seats (14-way) with Memory Package. I am currently leasing this vehicle with Porsche, and over the past year I have taken on a new job with a company car perk. As a result I have not been driving this beauty much, with the exception of a nice weekend every once in a while. Garage kept, non-smoker, maintained according to factory schedule at NGP (receipts available). No accidents, no paintwork, clean Carfax, and only imperfections are the usual rock chips. Still under factory warranty.
$49,750

Since the car is currently leased, is the sale price for you to buy out the lease, you then become the owner, and then transfer the car to the purchaser?
Or is there some other arrangement in mind? ed

Hi Ed,
Yes, the lease will have to be bought out first before the title will be released by Porsche. If anybody knows of another option to make this a smooth transaction for both parties please let me know. The option of having someone take over the lease is not an option as the contract would continue to keep me liable for the car. Regards, David

I dont know what's in your contract but typically if someone assumes your lease, you are released from the liability of it. The dealer typically charges a fee to transfer the lease (probably like $500), but then you are released from the obligation. If they "assume" the lease but you dont actually do the paperwork with the owner of the vehicle (dealership), then you would still continue to be liable for it. I'd check with the dealer before to confirm.
Also there may be other adjustments for trying to buy it out of the lease early you may want to consider. The price today is not going to be the same as the residual amount on your contract to buy it out when the lease expires. |
