Quick update: cleared a code from the last HPDE in early July that was nothing more than a minor very low emissions readout, it hasn’t returned. While the car was in the shop for P-fest Tech Inspection, Yuri installed the new left front inner fender liner. No more inner fender rub after changing the front tires last month to the factory size. Last item on the list was replacing the passenger seatbelt that had an electrical fault and was causing the airbag light to illuminate. Fixed bucket seats are excellent and no more airbag fault

Oh, forgot about catching the front splitter on a driveway.

Removed the damaged splitter, quick scuff with the grinding wheel and some flat black Rustoleum, good as new.

Next up is locating a Tequipment factory Roll bar, after that some track wheels with proper rubber.

Really enjoying this car

When I sold my 996 "GT3" clone, I included the GT3 astronaut seats and the tequipment roll bar. Do some research.
From what I recall, the techquipment roll bar isn't very safe. https://rennlist.com/forums/996-gt2-...oll-bar-2.html
I didn't know that until WAYYYYY after I sold the car.

Hey Denis,

I really liked your clone. Remember when you sold it and seriously considered making an offer but in the end...

Anyway I’m going for a complete factory system that is designed to work together with the individual components complementing each other including airbags, factory seats, factory roll bar, harnesses designed specifically for this system etc.

I’m a bit OCD about this stuff, setting the car up for my intended use HPDE, not racing or time trials.

Not picking on you but for example: The bar you pictured came out of Greg’s GT3 but you installed it in a sunroof car, this is the kind of stuff that gets you in trouble, just saying

Given the resources and experience Porsche has developing such, I’m very comfortable with my selection of safety equipment.

I read the thread that you posted and it contains zero factual evidence to support the silly speculation

BTW: I sold my beefy Titan Motorsports roll bar in favor of the factory bar because I didn’t like the fitment with the other safety equipment that I am using.

Safety is a complete system not just a bunch of parts cobbled together.

Looking forward to seeing you when you get back to the track.

Did you try those seats with HANS and helmet on? Many complain the headrests force your head to tilt forward.

My seat mounts have two holes that can be adjusted approximately 1” so that the seat can recline, shouldn’t be an issue.

We put these seats in our 2000 Boxster S. Initially, they did lean forward too much. Found some seat brackets (I believe BK) that had additional adjustment holes. Only installed on driver's side, and made a big improvement.

Ken,
It looks like this one fits the 964:

The Boxster's was slightly different, #9079.

Tony, thank you. I did find I had one more pitch adjustment to my seat so I made that adjustment between runs this weekend.

Karl, thank you as well for your thought this weekend too. That GT3 look sweet out there.
