Now that that’s taken care of…when you do need a shop, you SHOULD become a customer or Intersport. Great shop.

As a regular customer, Intersport usually doesn't charge me for things like this.

I use ODB2 Expert on the iPhone with the dongles. When I had an Android phone, I used Torque.

Welp... The Launch CRP123 came in on Saturday. It'll connect up to OBD2 and read codes (I had none). However, this specific Launch model does not have the option to reset the service.
As far as I can tell, the functionality of the Launch is not much more than what I have from my OBD2 bluetooth dongle and the Torque Pro app (i.e. what tomfree said). On second thought, it was able to connect to airbag computer along with a few others -- maybe TPMS, "Tiptronic" and one more I can't recall right now (not at home). Even though I have a PDK, maybe the diagnostics is still called Tiptronic? Not yet sure if I'll return the Launch. I'm assuming the promotion is over and it's back to the regular price of $134+tax. I paid $90 for it so if someone wants it at that price, let me know ASAP in case I return it. Serge

If you plan to do more than read code I would return it and get a full function device with web backup. I have a older full function but it is locked in 2014 or before. Not an issue yet but it will be at some point. The dongle and app based setups might be the future as they might always be up to date.

Thanks Vicegrip.
Not to sidetrack too much but with general talk of OBD2 connections/data/products/etc, curious on what Durametric provides compared to these generic options. There's a good chance I'll continue to own a P-car for some time so maybe worth investing in one to provide more information and maybe even saves me some money in the future. I understand it resets service lights and I'm sure it can also read the standard/emissions required codes like all other OBD2 options provide. From quick research online, some say that it can in fact read the proprietary codes but is it all of the codes or are there some that are still dealer tools only? For those that do have a Durametric, is it worth it? What all do you use it for? Apologies if I'm dragging this thread on but looks like it's getting views/interest so maybe helpful to others as well. TIA

And in the meantime some manufacturers are going more and more factory direct link rather than shop based box and a cord. Going to become harder to home wrench the newer stuff.
Good thing electric is coming. No more AFM, O2 sensors, cams cranks oil pressure filters and the like. Up next Batteries, motors, black boxes a dash panel and a million little widgets that all need to talk to each other or you can’t open a window or turn on the overhead light. I phone with wheels and a motor.
