Don’t sweat the trailer tags prior to bringing it home. Sweat the tire and bearing condition.

Backing trick I use to teach n00bs. 1. Only with room around the tow vehicle. 2. Left hand on wheel turn your body 90 deg to the right and look straight back through the truck at the rig. 3. Move the wheel slowly and small amounts as you back up.

This reverses your reactions from the norm and seems to work when first getting used to backing a rig.
