FWIW, methylene chloride is officially described as a "pleasant odor". IME, it has very little actual smell. Still, It is NOT good stuff to touch or breathe.

Same, but I didn't want to take off the paint, so I used this stuff:
https://www.amazon.com/3M-General-Pu...1EYHYA99801D9X
(available less expensively from other places, including TrueValue hardware stores locally)

For the back seat, I had to soak a cloth in the stuff and leave it on for a couple of minutes. Leave it on for too long and it does also removed the paint.

I’ve been busy lately driving the westy down to Key West for spring break and then flying out to Denver to pick up a bus to convert to a camper to stage in Europe.

Today I cleaned out the detritus in the garage and prepped the engine for a
long sleep. Pulled the plugs and put an ounce of MMO in each cylinder and turned the crank over a few times, then drained the MMO. Plugged any holes, covered it with plastic, and set it up so I can turn it over every few weeks.

Anyone interested in the eurobus build can find it here.

Great read (so far). Now I know what NAHT means! (for those who are Google-challenged, North American High Top).

Finished up all my travels for the summer and am now back to work.

Cleaned up the garage last weekend. Today I removed the rockers and oil lines. Could only get one line off of the thermostat but it was enough to remove the other lines as a set. The lines have some damage, the usual crushing, so I'll have to decide to repair or replace when I reinstall later.

Still looking good as far as no rust goes.

Worked today on the rear end. Lots of fiddly bits back there. Made good progress.

Finished up the rear end and engine compartment this evening.

Still no rust in there or in the rear wheel wells. I am frankly stunned.
