Funny you should mention that. I've never done one, and always said that once my suspension was redone, that would be the time. I've been holding onto the latest issue of Der Voranger as it has the full schedule. So, yes, def. considering it!

Nice of you to say. Re: the tail - not sure what I want to do with it yet, but will keep you in mind!

If you are interested in selling your whale tail when you swap, I have a place for it. The previous owners really did a number on mine. Looks good from the outside but is not firmly attached to the lid and is hacked on the inside.

Welcome aboard!

Love the targa - and they are just fine for Autocross. Try to make the school if you can.

Glad I convinced you. Great photos. Unlike TooTall, I have no idea where the photos were taken but would like to know.

I did everything myself on my most recent air-cooled except alignment (need to learn) and engine rebuild (too much time). Dorkis are amazingly helpful (those who helped/taught with transmission rebuilds, rewiring, suspension work, pressing out and in the bearings, and building the race car know who you are - thanks!). Pulling the engine is doable with jack stands, but pretty easy with a lift. Partial engine drop is easy.

Hi Dr K! The rusted bridge is right by White's Ferry (Maryland Side), and the mountain shot is in Shenandoah Nat'l Park. Hope I can give a hand on your next project!

I usually suspect a failing WUR for cold start issues.. but that's just internet talk. There is a guy Dr K likes in Montgomery County for fixing these fun older cars.. I'm sure he's already offered you that advice.

And by the way, you can autocross on old suspension too.. helps you learn the car better and maybe figure out what you'd like to do to personalize it (ie, spend more money on it, make it "faster" etc..)

Yes, I've been down the WUR slope. I recently had the WUR recalibrated, so I am on to other sources now (need to check the ground strap as had been suggested earlier).

So, I did replace the ground strap, no change.

In the end, I took the car to Matt DeMaria up by the airpark.

He found the wire from the thermotime switch to the cold start valve has been pinched between the bell housing and the body, and had worn though the insulation and shorted out. He spliced in some new wire and I am firing up just fine.

Finally time to put the side skirts back on, once get the rattle can paint I ordered to paint the torsion bar covers.

Another topic: Anyone going to Hershey?

Nice car btw.

Sweet. Matt is the master of solving electrical-related issues.
