Thinking about bringing the new/old car out. Might need to clean it first though. Maybe wash/shine would be the better class for me vs full concours

How the typical Dorki thinks about Concours.

I probably won't have absolutely all of the clear coat off the Boxster yet. Do they have a "Most Patina" class? I would also be competitive in the "Valet's Bane" category though caged race cars usually win that...

If Dorkies would all park together with their track cars I would definitely go. Sort of like an anti-concours. Probably would be frowned upon by the PTB though.

I figured very few Dorkis would be there. Honestly, though, it is fun to just walk around and watch people obsessively clean their cars with q-tips and be glad you don't have that mental illness.
I'll be judging. |

Third great post today. This is the best morning of reading Dorkiphus in a long time (the other two are on the wheel offset thread and the Pcars and Babes thread). Must be the moon cycle because the general level of humor has really picked up! Thanks, Tony.

I actually quite enjoy car shows as long as they're with the right people.
I have been yearning to take my 944 (replete with V8 and turquoise wheels) to a concourse but have yet to do so. Unfortunately I'll be out of town this weekend. Race cars and "well-loved" cars tend to be more well-received than we might at first think. Someday. Someday.

People are bored with q-tip clean cars.
Crowds always around the dirty, the used, the rats, the rods. The two stories: 1. I've had this car xx years and only driven it 7 times. But I have spent 1,423 hours cleaning it. Yawn. 2. I've had this car xx years and driven it 100,000+ miles, 3 engine rebuilds, used to be a race car for 10 years, was owned by some famous dude, and last year I drove it to Alaska and back. Cool.
