I’ve also used car dealer price stickers. You can get them cheap on amazon, they’re very bright, and I’ve never lost them on track. Though they have peeled off while the car was on a trailer driving to VIR.

I've been using the used car dealer numbers for about 5 years - they work really well. I've always put them on glass (a couple of e36's), so I have no idea how the adhesive will release from paint.
