I was at Intersport yesterday talking with Charlie and he does not think its an IMS issue. His initial sense was possibly the timing chain but you never know until you crack the motor.

Yeah, bikepump, agree with you...I just don't know if I could live with myself....so with my budget that leaves 944.

On my engine- it is still pending more investigation, so let's see. But I'm trying to gather info for cost of all different options so I can make the best (or least painful) decision. (Hence my asking about spare engines and creative trades).

@ Varejao17: Cayman R sounds hot. I'll give you $6k for it.

i just looked on Craigslist and found a crashed 2006 boxster for $7900 or parting out

was yours an s or base

you might make them a deal on the motor

Why no love for miatas (they are SLOW, I understand)

I hate to say it but a E36 M3 is cheaper than 944 money, way faster, and cheaper to maintain.
