Default Colorado Springs Treffen

We got into the Colorado Springs treffen after some anxious moments. Registration for these events has become like the Oklahoma land rush. I was sitting watching the count down for registration opening and hit my keyboard the second 3pm ticked over. After a delay, I got a message that the registration was fullup and did I want to get on a waiting list. My first reaction was that folks had figured out how to front run the registration and I didn't want any part of it. My wife convinced me to put our name on the waiting list and I complied under protest. As soon as I did, a screen opened up for regular registration. I went ahead and filled in the screen, but by the time I got it all filled in the daily road trips that we wanted were all filled up. We made second choices and our registration was accepted and confirmed. It's clear from this and the last couple of treffens that PCA has a hit on their hands. Maybe it's time to consider changes to the process.

Now that we're in we're planning a road trip of at least a month to hit destinations in a loop going out and returning. Target destination on the way out is Santa Fe. After the treffen is over we're going to spend some time touring around Colorado before heading home up through Nebraska and Iowa. This trip will result in my having set foot in every one of the lower 48.

Much to see in Utah and Arizona which I hope you will get to if you haven't already been or planned.

We hit Arizona four years ago on our way back from the Rennfest. Last year we went to the treffen in Banf and dropped down through Montana, Idaho, Utah and western Colorado down to Santa Fe on our way back. We hit Glacier, Idaho Falls, Salt Lake City, Zion, Bryce and Arches on our way through Durango on the way to Santa Fe.

We'll be driving our Carrera Cab like we did last year. Front trunk holds two carry ons. Coats go in the back; laptops go under the rear seats.
