I have a friend who has a MC2105 and C28 sitting in a closet collecting dust. I wanted to buy from his father, but the father has basically forgotten they are there so it was a no-go. I've always liked the Mac sound so I started lurking around Audiogon. I'm very very very impressed with the amp.

Can't say I know much about the emotiva, but if you haven't, try searching audiogon and audiokarma. Some very helpful people there!

I like my subwoofers to have chrome and neon lights and VTEC.

My ridiculously smart brother-in-law designs chipsets for Intel and has told me this same thing. The design considerations are really, really weird.

My latest project based on this Decware thread where the focus was high quality at low cost:

http://www.audiophiletalk.com/cgi-bi...num=1126228937

Features include 12AT7 as input tubes and 6AQ5's as output tubes, all wired in triode. Single power supply feeding both chanels and a constant current supply for tube bias. Output ~8WPC in triode, ~15WPC if wired in Ultralinear (switches near output transformers). Schematic:

http://homepage.mac.com/planet10/for...3jun06-map.gif

Thanks to Jazz for the woodwork help....beautiful.

Dual volume control knobs, one per channel. Input selector switch in the middle (6 inputs).

Still need to wire it up.
