Default DE car rental?

A friend in another PCA region is interested in coming out to join PCA Potomac in a DE or two, sometime this year. He's too far away to bring his car, so he's looking for information on track car rentals. He's also quite experienced as a track driver -- he's the CI in his region.

I know RP Performance rents Miatas for DEs at Summit Point. Any other places y'all can recommend that rent track cars for DEs?

Thanks!

It might be cheaper to ship is HPDE car here for a couple of events vs renting.

Karl 'rents' all of his cars. Its just that the person he rents them from is always different than the person he returns them to!

Another suggestion is renting an RV and open trailer. Bring his car to DE, and stay at the track in the RV. Overnites enroute and he could park at a truck stop for free. WG is the only track I know of that WON'T allow overnite occupancy in the paddock.

We had a DE at Mid Ohio years ago when one of the drivers in "Black" rented a Chevy Cobalt for the event. He put new brake pads on it every day (because the pads barely made it a day) and returned it with totally shot tires, but he did a good job of hustling it around the track! (No, he didn't pass me...)

Nice idea, but he's too far away to drive at all -- RVs don't work well across oceans.

Some people have rented Mustangs and driven them at DEs without track insurance. I recall one incident that didn’t end well.
