Default Officially a proud owner of a Porsche 911 Carrera

Hey everyone, I'm new to the forum as well as the Porsche world. I've wanted Porsche 911 for ever and I finally pulled the trigger. It's a 1987 Carrera 911, Cabriolet in Carmine red. The previous owner updated a lot of items over the years, and now it's mine. I was hoping to meet other owners locally and find out details on independent mechanics, detailers, etc.. I'll continue to search the forum, but look forward to meeting everyone!

Indeed.. welcome! Good looking car you got there.

the next best $$ you could spend is to join PCA - Potomac region: https://pcapotomac.org/ - lots of us are PCA members and Potomac is one of the local region clubs. They put on a vast array of events - social, driving etc. and many of the region sponsors are folks you might need - detailers, independant shops, accountants etc

The national club is here: https://www.pca.org/pca-membership-join-club-join-fun

I'm in Willowsford, near Hammerdown BBQ. Where do you service your car?

Ah, Hammerdown. Great Food. I am at Westview off Gum Springs.

I do most my own service if I can. Only place I have used before is with Ivan at IMA Motorwerke in Chantilly.

There are a few others that folks recommend around (Taylor Chapman at Chapman Auto Werks in Sterling).

However, I forgot who the others were...

Of course there is a new Porsche dealership being built down the road...
