Not a strong win by USA, but a win nonetheless. We'll take it.

Hopefully Jozy is able to recover quickly from his hamstring strain.

That was an All-American win... Gut-wrenching... heart-stopping... and full of heart. That said I think Ghana played better football. They are incredibly fast and amazing ball handlers and our guys could barely put a pass together. Happy for the win but it is one of the things that puts me off the World Cup sometimes - watching the better team loose seems to happen a lot.

Jermaine Jones really led the team tonight and Brad Guzan was incredible. Bradley seemed like a non-entity after the hype of the announcers and was out of place on one of our best setup yet failed plays late in the game.

So far it looks like Germany, Bosnia, and Ghana for me as real teams to watch. Which, of course, means somehow Argentina will win....

Only saw the 2nd half of USA game last night and it wasn't pretty football. No ability to control the ball, on their heels defensively......they are so lucky to take a win from a team that played much better.

But it was a WIN! They played hard nosed and didn't give up. USA, USA, USA

Agreed. I found it ugly all around, not just by Team USA. Ghana did much better at controlling the tempo and overall possession but also couldn't put a shot on target to save their lives.

And Bradley was a waste of space out there. Every time he got the ball he gave it away and was rarely where he needed to be. Agreed that Jones was the spark the team needed.

Was anyone else disappointed in overall fitness? This is the first team I've seen play where not one, not two, but three players are consistently cramping up. And the first one happened just 20 min in!

OK I'll stop being a Negative Nancy. So excited for the win and I think we may have a shot at getting out of our group!

Not sure it's poor fitness vs the temp/ humidity conditions. During the England/ Italy games most of the players on both sides visibly wilted by early in the second half. In general the games further north are the toughest due to the weather conditions; in the games played further south the players looked much fresher late in the second half.

England/Italy game looked like both sides were really pacing themselves.

USA's inability to hold the ball created a cycle of bad passes from tired players, leading to more defending, leading to more tired players.

Its FIFA's covert conditioning plan to get the world ready for the next Word Cup in Quatar! See? They handled Brazil, so playing in 125 degree conditions will be a snap.
