Default Calling Bosch hammer Nicad rechargeable battery experts, where to buy?

Hi folks,

This battery pack came from a Bosch System Tester 9288 (Bosch Hammer). Last sereval dorkis, who have used it on their 964s, have reported that it was slow to recharge. I've recently tried to recharge it for several days, but the battery would not take any charge. Does anyone know where I can find the replacement Nicad pack? Thanks in advance for all your help.

make one or get this one rebuilt. Google battery rebuilding. there are lots of places that rebuild or sell aftermarket replacments. Bosch does not make them up from exotic parts. they set a spec that can be made from avasilble standard parts.

I Have a Snap-on impact gun and Strap-on wanted $145 for a replacment battery. Got the existing one rebuilt for $45.

x2. Or google any 6 cell AA NiCd pack. This is the first one I hit but should be able to find anywhere:

Cut the terminals off the old one and solder to wires on the new.

You might want to check with some local Hobby Shops that are well stocked in RC stuff. They carry a variety of rechargable battery "packs" in different configurations; resoldering the old terminals would be an easy project.

Thanks for all the suggestions. The Hammer tool will be out of service to Dorkis until I get new battery pack.

Stephen,
I was never really good in electronics. It looks like the original Bosch pack is rated at 600mAh. The one in your link is rated at 1100 mAh. Would doubling the Ah have any impacts on the functions of the tool?

Yes. It will run twice as long before needing recharging
