Looking for a modestly-prepped DE/dual purpose car that ideally has some combination of the following:
  • Roll bar
  • Seats/harnesses
  • Lowered and stiffened (plus sway bars) but not kidney-killing
  • All rubber bits maintained/replaced
  • Solid on preventive maintenance
  • Engine/trans in good shape
  • Intake valve
  • SSIs and muffler

Obviously cars that are closer to stock are completely fine, but it would be nice to find something had had at least some of these components already addressed.
Would also be nice to have had a refresh/rebuild at some point, especially if high mileage.

Also, as laughable as it is, AC is a must-have.

This car will be my DD and Anisa's track car.

Any leads? Open to looking anywhere in the US.
Sounds like you meant to say "I am looking for an updated 996.2 for street/track use"

Indeed the AC on the aircooled cars is laughable at best, unless perhaps you redo the whole system.. and then as others mention, its "cool" at best but never cold.

As to the original question, I really liked my Euro SC. Never had an issue with the CIS either. Only drove a few G50 cars but never thought it as being superior to the 915.. only different.

X2 After having my Euro car for a year this coming January, I’m digging it.

AC on my 993 worked wonderfully and so does the current one. Went down to Greenville, SC this year to watch the eclipse, and it was quite hot for most of those days. AC kept both of us more than frosty.

I agree that the AC in '80s Carrera and earlier cars were less than stellar.
