My wife recently got a 718 Boxster and she is struggling to accept the need to put holes in the front bumper to mount a license plate. I'm wondering what the group think at Dorkiphus is on this dilemma:

1. (My solution) - principally garage the car (guessing that means 185 days per year) at our other home in Delaware.
2. Go without it and pay the fine
3. Put it on the dash
4. Tow hook mount (but it looks like it interferes with the parking sensor and/or collision avoidance sensor)
5. Is there a way to mount it underneath the front bumper and just let it scrape the ground on occasion?

There is a kit that lets you mount plate brackets by using vertical screws in the center grill opening. The holes are hidden and the license plate does not interfere with the sensors. I’ve used this kit on two cars but am not remembering the name. It’s a little fussy to install but works well.

You could also make your own “c” brackets to mount with vertical screws pointing up and down.

Yep. Just used a skene bracket to put a front plate on my m3.
