This is what the slots are for in pipe cutter wheels. this most often happens when two things happen together. 1 you make a textbook bubble or flair. 2 forgot to put the fitting on first.

There are two kinds of people: Those who have done it and those who won't admit to having done it.

For all you fabricators out there, this will be a "duh" post, but I got my first chance to play with Clecos this weekend. I was down in NC with my LeMons buddies, and we had to make a new lexan rear hatch glass for the Integra. The old one had gasoline splashed on it and had started to degrade very quickly. We drilled out all the rivets, pulled the old one off, traced it out on a new sheet, and used the holes in the old one as a guide. Since we were concerned with the old hatch glass moving around as we drilled all the holes, we drilled 8 holes using the old hatch, and used clecos to secure the old hatch to the new, uncut lexan. We finished out drilling the other 40-something holes, pulled out the clecos and then cut the new hatch glass with a jig saw.
When we put the new glass on the hatch, we got out the clecos again and attached it to the hatch frame with a couple to get everything lined up to finish the install with rivets. We did a pretty good job using the old glass as a template, as we only had one hole that was notably off. With a little brute force, we bent the lexan a little bit to get it to line up better for the rivet gun, and the last rivet was in place. Clecos rule.

the right stuff
I have had the WrightGrip wrenches (set 750) for a quite a while now...they work really well to remove stubborn hard to reach bolts. Very happy with them so far and they have removed bolts that other wrenches rounded off the flats, even when using a dab of grinding grease. They will leave marks on the bolts but that is the least of my worries when the corners are already rounded!
