Default it is a very sad day, the cayman is a total loss

what to do????

does anyone need a good 2012 cayman s engine and pdk transmission?

how much is that worth?

should i buy the salvage and part it out?

on the bright side, i can most likely by a replacement car and make it to pitt race now

Someone did pretty well parting out a wrecked chixster a few years back. It takes a while though, especially when it comes to things like selling interior trim pieces, switches, etc. I guess it all depends on the salvage price, and how much time you can spend pulling off and mailing parts.

Hi Otto,
Sorry about the car. Glad you came out of it unscathed.

Unless you have some mechanical skills, tools and time just move on.....

Allrighty then, I'll guess the engine alone would be in the $12K-15K+ range when the car gets parted out. I'm occasionally looking at used 05 3.2 M96 motors and they are consistently in the $8K-9K range. You'll typically see all the parts from a single car on some breakers ebay sale. It seems like a whole helluva lot of work to do if you're not in the business especially the advertising, selling, and shipping.

How bad is the front end damage, just body? subframe? Should I be looking on Copart for this soon?
