I proudly rock a non-OEM stereo in my air-cooled Porsche. Maybe one day over a beer I'll tell you about the guy who helped me pick it out and led the install at a demo/ DIY day well over a decade ago.

Was that at DSI? I'm rocking this model. Flips to blank panel when parked. The whole rotating face makes me feel like 007.

I used to care about radios.. then I lost some hearing and don't give a carp.

I also struggle to align those who love "old school authentic" aircooled porsches.. but have to have all their tech and cupholders with them.. to me the point is to disconnect.. not stay constantly connected.

Sure was. Hopefully the stereo will be played again later in the year.

Cool feature. It reminds me of the Nakamichi RX-202 cassette player which flips the tape.

as does the Dragon...

Fuching cassettes are making a comeback. Vu, you gonna add a cassette deck? Maybe put in an 8-track as well?

For the older cars I really like the VDO unit. Its identical to the Conti as Contitech bought VDO but the fact it says VDO on it just like the gages it looks the part.
It has the added benefit of Bluetooth and Cell phone connection.
Do not confuse this with HiFi but it is a great upgrade to factory unit, looks the part and gives a few modern features. All the adapters and cables that Bergville sells for the Conti work identically for this unit.

Are either available anywhere yet? My 86 stereo is 80’s craptastic Sony with dry rotted speakers. I’ve wanted to upgrade the radio for about a decade.
