Update: Car back together. New Clutch operating as it should, shifter bushings all replaced (pretty easy to do); Larger intake installed, and car out of the garage. However, lots of fuel coming out of the exhaust and my thoughts are the effort with impact gun and eventually the hammering to remove the broken bolts resulted in damaging the O2 sensors...no worries, probably a good idea to change them anyways. other than the white smoke and smell of fuel the car seems to be running ok. hopefully get them swapped this week and move on to the rear panel repair.

Replaced o2 sensors, fixed a couple of air leaks and car running great. Going to swap in a lsd sometime later this summer. Took the rear end apart and took car to a local body shop. Owner offered to pull out tha back end and get the bumper and cover aligned, as well as repar damage to trunk latch area for a very reasonable cost. Car should be finished this week for now and is a fun little driver. After parting the 325i and now done the clutch on this car, feel like I know a lot about these cars. golf season has arrived. Won't see as much time on the cars as I start working on my other hobby..

I took car to a body shop where I was pretty sure they wouldn't be able to legally do what I wanted. I was going to visit multiple shops for an estimate, but the guy at the first shop told me what I should targeting for a cost and where I could likely get the work done without the warranty concerns and insurance concerns. He was on target. Here are a couple of shots.

Very Nice Work. Those look like Rub-Out Issues to me - Well maybe a bit of banging first. Worst case, a trip to the BMW bone yard. I bailed out of a clutch job on my 330 late last year as I wanted to drive it and figured I saved enough money working on the M3 myself. Putting in a LSD and the upgraded intake?- Those are not needed for just hauling golf clubs now is it?

Thanks Hugh. Not sure why the pictures are flipped? I think some banging while being pulled by a frame machine...initial plan was just to but some spacers in between bumper shock and car body to allow the rear bumper cover to be aligned. but started thinking I should at least see what someone would charge me to pull it out with a machine and get it aligned...found that person who said he would also fix the trunk lid and get it all aligned...didn't want to buy a replacement hood unless it properly aligned and hopefully this will delay the need to buy one...Has been quite fun...rest of the car is pretty solid. Realize I didnt really need the m50 swap and the LSD, but it all fit under the budget I set, so thought I would just see what it was like...
