Default 986 Tip Project

Sold.

Markdown: $4000 from $4500.

This is a nice winter program, except it wont take that long to get it on the road, especially if you have access to a lift.

99 Tiptronic, fires right up, runs well even having sat.

100K miles.

The last few things with this car have exceeded my skills and capabilities. Mostly because I don't own a lift.

Bottom line is this is a sweet-driving car with a ton of new stuff on it, just needs a couple things to get over the hump and back on the street. The car is NOT street-legal at this time.

What's it need? A new neutral safety switch and rear brake lines. I have one of the lines and a salvage switch.

So what have I done to it since I got it?

NEW OEM TOP! NO leaks. That was what $1200?

IMS-? FIXED! High end ceramic bearing professionally installed. NEVER buy a 986 without an aftermarket IMS unless you want a paperweight. Engines cost $18K. This engine work cost $2300.

NEW DISKS/PADS.
NEW COMPUTER.
NEW COOLANT PUMP/MAIN HOSE/THERMOSTAT
NEW AIR/OIL SEPARATOR
NEW MAF
NEW ENGINE AIR FILTER
NEW CABIN AIR FILTER
NEW CLOCKSPRING (horn/airbag actuator)
NEW BATTERY
NEW PLUGS
NEW IGN SWITCH
GEARBOX/TRANSAXLE FLUSHED
NEW SERPENTINE BELT
OEM CD PLAYER INSTALLED. CASSETTE PLAYER GAVE UP THE GHOST
NEW LUG BOLTS
GEAR SELECTOR ACTUATOR ROD
ATF COOLANT VALVE
REAR SWAY BAR BUSHINGS, FRONTS WAITING INSTALL
FUEL FILTER

Interior is pretty good. Zero major defects.

On summer tires now.

OPTIONAL FOUR EXTRA WHEELS WITH *BRAND NEW* WINTER TIRES.

This car cost $53K new, in '99! I have the window sticker.

What can I say...it's a 99 so it's got some small dings, I mean minor. Gravel chips. Road trash hits. Roadside branch scratches. Etc.

But everything, and I do mean everything, WORKS, from ABS to spoiler.

This is a terrific little car, strong engine, it is definitely good for another 200k or more.

I have a few odds and ends stashed for it...bushings, links, radiator fans. Included.

Have I mentioned that this is a sweet-driving little car?

Call me 571-612-0658 or Dorki-mail me.

Money talks.

Heel and toeing my butt! I have a mildly hard time with steps down, and slopes up. Never mind fancy footwork in a car.

So who wants that little car?

Look, I own a 987 Spyder. That 986 is shockingly awesome, and it’s slow enough to thrash in public. Try that in a 987 or newer and wooo!

GLWTS for sure, sounds a deal except Tip. I do have trouble with stairs and slopes as well, right ankle fused and left knee has been replaced twice, barely get 90 -100 degrees bend.

Looks like another 4 sale ads needs a cleanup! Though hearing about who Dirk used to be is as they say PRICELESS!
