Gen 1 997 Carrera to I. The minimum class weight for the 2005-8 997 Carrera is raised by 75 pounds to 3300.

PCCB brake package. The PCCB brake option is a prepared modification even if it was ordered on the car. This includes use just of the PCCB calipers.

Aerokit wings. Aerokit wings, even if ordered on the car, are a prepared modification.

Yea it sucks! But everyone is misinterpreting the rule. I stay In H, but add 75lb. Gen 1 997 Carrera to I was the proposed rules change, and adding 75lb was the action. But yes at first my head exploded until i figured out what they did. Also made my brakes and wing a prepared change. Not really a big deal. More of a headache and $$$ to convert back

Ryan, do your track records stand? With the rule change they may be pretty much unbeatable!

So the aero kit thing. The more I look into that the more cars that is going to effect. The "Aerokit" was available as a factory option as far back as 993's.

Does that mean that every 993,6,7 has to go back to the speed sensing stock wing or go up a class? And how do they justify 20 years of other stock class cars with wings that were orderable such as every D and E class 911? That's a pretty serious rule change with more than a couple 993-7's with non-stock wings.

What am I missing? More terrible wording?

What you are missing is that a wing is already a prepared mod for every aircooled car. The older cars have spoilers, not wings.

Hmmm, except any spoiler was an option and e and d are allowed to run larger spoilers than were ever able to be ordered as an option.

The other question is they are all already running the aerokit so it's all relative. Why change it?

Spoilers have always been free. Wings have always been a prepared mod. There was no aerokit wing for a 993 or any of the earlier cars. Wings produce downforce, spoilers do not. Instead spoilers reduce (spoil) lift.

The difference between a wing and a spoiler is that there is airflow on both sides of a wing. Spoilers only have air going over one side.
