Looks like early 70s 911 stuff is the ticket and re drilled rear hubs. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Actually, just about any air-cooled front will work; I have an early 930 front on mine. The re drilled rear hubs will withstand anything you can throw at them. Drilled mine in the early '90s and they're still good. Unless you're going racing, no need to overkill like I did. One more thing: Boxster brakes on the front and rear (no emergency brake on mine)! I swear it'll stop on a dime and give you a quarter in change.

I know I've seen parts for sale recently on either 914world or Pelican. Can't recall which.

Only real difference is whether you want 3" struts or 3.5" struts.. these relate to the brake calipers.. "early" is 3". later (SC, Carrera) is 3.5"

Not sure if early carries a premium as folks restore longhood 911s and want correct vintage stuff.

Not sure if they are still available, but Brad Roberts or some such vendor used to sell upgrade kits for 914s. Didn't mess with the whole front suspension, just some kind of hub adaptor iirc.

And then there is this: http://www.914world.com/bbs2/index.php?showtopic=324104

While I am told this is sold.. is this what you were looking for: http://www.914world.com/bbs2/index.php?showtopic=322911

Get the 3.5" the 3" is from the really early cars and the brakes aren't as good. 3" can be easier to find because not many people want them. Also, look for the newer style control arms because the way the ball joint attaches is better. However, if it is just a street car, the 3" stuff is good, as well as just drilling the 914 rotors because let's face it - people complain "Oh you have to get the drilled every time you get new rotors" but are you planning on driving it enough to wear out a set of rotors?

This is exactly what I am looking for. From what I understand there are some pros/cons to going with an underbody sway bar.

After this driving season my shit box will proceed towards the attached photo.

So I am working on sourcing parts while trying to find a shop to go through the car and do the body work.

If that's the case contact Rich Johnson (a914guy) he has packages.
I used him when I went with my 3.5" front setup and boxster front brakes.

BTW - brave man going with a flared car...they look great though. I guess mine will be easier to spot with skinny fenders as a rare non-flared /6 conversion
and if you want a roll-bar, I have one I'm not going to use with the current direction of my car.

From practical experience at Summit: Do NOT use a rear sway bar on these. They become amazingly diabolical. On my set up: 8x15 Fuchs on all four corners and Goodyear 9" G19s. Without the rear, the car was neutral and could be placed in any position (I always played around with T10; outside, inside (careful, you tend to get awfully close to track left. . .) and center. With the rear bar on the softest setting, it oversteered like a b****. The advice you received on the 3.5" spindles is correct. That opens you for all types of brakes. Don't worry about the re drilled hubs. If done correctly, they'll last you forever. Have you given thought to what, if any, you're going to do about an emergency brake? 914-6 rears are apparently gold or platinum. Just pull that string, this might not be important to you. Good luck!
