Default TechTactics live

Can't find much about it but tomorrow is the first episode of PCA TechTactics Live on youtube. The description says they will be swapping out a 986 shifter with a GT3 unit. Looks like it will be interactive if there are questions. MIght be fun to watch.

Yesterday was the soft launch of Tech Tactics Live. Doing a project live without the ability to do retakes was a bit unnerving. Wanted to iron out all the technical kinks too. That said, I hope people will enjoy this series. Let me know if you have ideas for projects that can be done in about an hour. Link to video: https://youtu.be/6yoB7eX5sR4?t=1194

Looks like an interesting episode coming later today, Filling In A Paint Chip. Popped up on my Youtube feed and since it is live gave me the option to set a reminder.

The last one was great, makes me want to add a GT3 shifter to the 997.2.

Looking forward to today’s presentation.

Thank you Vu. I installed a new 997 GT3 shifter (standard not short shift) with my son this evening in a new to me 03 Boxster S. We followed the video step by step and the install was seamless. I'm teaching him how to drive a stick and now that the slop is gone he is finding 3rd much easier. There is a night and day difference between the old and new shifter.

By the way my car also had that unused connector. Did you figure out what it's used for? I also watched the chip repair video and that's the next father/son project. Thanks again and look forward to more great videos! Stay safe.

Hey Vu, one thing I didn't see in the video or comments - if the car has been waxed (which made the chips show much more since the wax stayed in the edges of the chips which I believe are mostly in the clear coat), do you do something to remove the wax before repair? With pain color still showing well in all the "chips" I might try clay or correcting cream before going with Dr. Colorchip...

Love this, this is the reason we do this stuff. Did you happen to get more pictures during the project? Or maybe a picture of you and your son with the parts and car? Would love to share your story.

Yes, the connector there is for the mounted cell phone option. Basically contains power, ground and switched 12v.
