Default Gasoline expands in heat!

Have had the 911 on stands for a few months...had filled the gas tank i guess before i started.

So last couple of days I have been smelling fuel in the garage...

low and behold the heat i guess has caused the fuel in the tank to expand some and started expanding into the plastic overflow and then dripping out of the hose connection in the driver side wheel well...

pulled the level indicator and siphoned a couple of gallons out...that was a new one on me...i hate messing with gasoline...

After beginning to draft up a response to this a couple of times, I decided not to post any of what I was writing

Certainly, dealing with a car in storage can bring about unexpected situations. The expansion of fuel due to heat, leading to dripping from the overflow, is a unique issue to encounter. It's understandable that handling gasoline can be a concern, given its flammable nature.

In such situations, it's a good idea to consider using a fuel stabilizer or treatment if your vehicle will be in storage for an extended period. This can help maintain the quality of the fuel and prevent unusual occurrences like the one you experienced. Also, for future reference, checking out Costco gas prices might be worthwhile, as they often offer competitive rates that could save you some money.
