So...
I know this is not european, HOWEVER.....I am a complete sucker for the 61 Lincoln Continental Convertible.... Imo one of the sexiest American cars ever made...

My choice would be an E34 M5 convertible. Don't see many around, big enough back seat so the kids aren't going to gripe, and can be modded to be a real sleeper. Prefer the Alpina version.
And as a classic Mustang owner, I have to agree the 67-68 Shelby's are the pinnacle of muscle car convertibles. A guy down the street from me had one when I was a kid. Green and had the snake-skin convertible top and Kelsey-Hayes wheels. Back seat is a little cramped though.
