WTB College kid car
Trying to help a friend. Perfect candidate is an Accord/Civic/Camry/Coolrolla.... decent shape and ready to go, sub 10k. Kids mom isnt a fan of lifted 4x4's, $$$ maintenance or upgraded blow off valves.
Appreciate any leads

Your list sounds like a good start. I would consider adding some Subaru models, too, like the Impreza. Also, I would recommend a hatchback, versus a trunk, for versatility.

FWIW I bought my son (in HS) a Hyundai Elantra GT -- it's the hatchback model. Ours is a 6MT. If you avoid the models susceptible to USB hotwiring, they can be pretty dependable and reasonable.

Strict adherence to oil change schedules is a must with Hyundai/Kia engines. I would be wary of any used Hyundai/Kia.

If looking at a Jetta and looking for a hatchback, then VW Golf (which includes GTI but not sure his mother wants a hot hatch--I love my GTI).
