Anemic?

It has been updated to the current information since your post. Also, the site is going through a complete renovation. The new site should be less anemic.

That would be the part where I said it has been updated since his last post.

I was more wondering about the "anemic" part.

The secret plan is to have a webcam section with the contestants from the Daisy Dukes contest and the NOPI bikini contests.

Don't tell anyone.

Default Seems like a good place to put this.

After each session at SPM, I checked my tire pressures and how much patch was actually scrubbing the pavement.
First
82 SC Basically stock suspension lowered ride height 3.0 stock
Goodyear eagle F1 front 205-55-ZR16
Rear GE F1 225-50-ZR16
pressure start front cold 32 rear 34 ( I did this on purpose so I could have a starting point and not have to add pressure through the day)
Left ~2" of tire surface unscathed loose as hell on the track

2nd warm pressure adjustment.
Front 30 rear 32
Left~1" of tire surface unscathed better but still loose.

3rd warm
Front 28 rear 30 Cold the next morning (26F and 29R)
Full contact and much more predictable in hard cornering although....
I would NOT recommend Goodyear Eagle F1s for anything other than street driving. They just did not hold the corners well and got really greasy after 4+ laps. They feathered badly on the drivers side front and rear I believe from pushing it through the carosel.
Here is a a couple pics of the contact patches.

Tim,

You need to run much higher pressure. The tires are rolling over too much.

Also cold pressure is not a relevant measure. The difference is huge if it's 40F or 90F ambient temp. You should set your tires' hot temp right after you come in. Street tires should run at least 40psi hot.

(You will notice that as you run harder and heat up you tires more, you will start with lower cold pressure.)

Re: feathering, your tires don't look too bad. All non-slicks (incl. unshaved RA1's) will feather a bit due to the hard braking and cornering.

Tim, that sounds way low. When I was running the 911 on street tires, I started at 34 based on other recommends. Don't know what people on streets are doing in a 911.

With the RA-1s I start at 31 all around.

Thanks Toby,
I checked the tire pressure on my next to last run (3rd) right after I came in and they were 34 fr and 37R which gave me the most predictable comfort going through the corners although high speed stability/brakeing was less. When I took HPDC, Charlie (my on track instructor) drove my car and when we pitted he checked my contact patch and recomended lowering pressures to achieve more contact as he felt it was too loose.
I'm a little pissed at my tire choice as I feel ,even at my level of understanding of tires, that GYE's on my car were a poor choice. I was running slow by most standards on repeatable lines and they were squalling throughout the event, which means loosing traction. If I tried to push a little harder the rear would try to come around and I'd have to catch it.
