Is Vbox like Trackmate?
I've heard of it but have no idea of it's capabilities. How does it compare to Trackmate or other similar systems? Is it even the same kind of device?

It's actually named Performance Box. Here's a link. Would you guys check this for me and tell me if it is worth $350.

For $350 maybe, but hard to tell from the ad hype. But US dist. list price as $499. Most other data loggers offer upgrades for more input like; RPM. gear etc.
Edit: mounting system shown won't pass tech.

It is not like a Trackmate. Trackmate does a whole lot more. What do you expect it to do? Then some of us can comment.
Edit: for your RL posts on the 996TT forum it will give you 60-130 times for bragging rights.

looks interesting, but certainly not part of the big names of data acq. the other thing that is nice about getting what everybody else has, is that you can swap files and more easily compare your laps to theirs. but, if you have the $ and want to give it a shot, could be worth it to be the guinea pig. for my $, a few extra bucks gets you a used g2x (which is what i did). then you can swap files with those that use g2x, iq3, etc.

Again, I recommend blogging and joining Team OG Racing. They give a 15% discount to their Team OG Racing members. Used it on my G2x (actually the discount was quite a bit higher as they ran a "special offer" for Team OG members), my seat, my Nomex suit, my shoes...

Couldn't you use an hourglass for your lap times...would be a lot cheaper.

Can I trade up from the sundial I now have? It is a nice sundial and is far better than the calender I used to use. I will toss in a free Curry's branded giveaway flashlight for night races.
