I still fail to see the issue. Want to drive with some Potomac folks? Sign up for one of these events with the people you like and fits your schedule. Why does anything "formal" need to be done. All regions need instructor help and most are happy to have the students so why does Potomac have to come out and run an event or co-run an event? Afraid of getting spanked by the cars with OH tags? Run with NNJR.

I doubt Schattenbaum had these hand wringing discussions when dropping SP.

Potomac has experience with early May and Late October events; neither has attractive weather and that has a direct affect on fun quotient and sign-ups. The list below also highlights one of our issues when traveling to a remote track where we are dependent upon locals to fill out the event: the two most local regions host their own events the two preceding weekends. When considering alternative dates, it is also important to not conflict with other established events.

Ohio Valley Region Porsche Club of America (PCA) April 4 - 6: WAY, WAY too early; certainty of rain and cold
Mid-Ohio Region PCA April 25 - 27: Too early; high probability of rain and cold
Northern Ohio Region PCA May 2 - 4: Too early; high probability of rain and cold

Best choice, if they will share - Northern New Jersey Region PCA May 16 - 18

Allegheny Region PCA September 5 - 7: Same weekend as VIR
Mid-Ohio Region PCA September 12 - 14: Too close to VIR
Northern Ohio PCA September 26 - 28: Same weekend as Potomac CR/DE
Ohio Valley Region PCA October 17 - 19: Too late; high probability of snow and cold

I have no official capacity and do not want to step on anyone's toes or retrace footsteps, but I will contact NNJR to see if they would entertain a joint event. They typically do a good job of filling their events, so they may not have incentive to share.

Speaking of local tracks, any word on adding some Dominion dates to the PCAP sched? I heard the local Audi club has lined up several for next year already.

Thanks Eric! I was planning to do the exact same analysis at sometime.

The only time I ran Mid-Ohio was with NNJR many years ago. Great event, great weather and not crowded at all.. I know they've had some troubles getting some events to fill up.. they could be receptive.

I'm in! There were tons of Bimmers at VIR; maybe recruit a few for MO?

Have at it! Anything drovers can do to help keep the event will, err, help keep the event.

Just remember, this isn't an exercise in throwing out ideas for others to execute, as the PCAP DE group has already expended a ton of effort with little to show. People who want to keep the event are encouraged to reach out and contact other groups and get them to sign up before the fast-approaching deadline.
