I started disassembly until I run into 2 studs which need heat to remove. I stopped and packed and labeled all items, and put the crank case away for now. I want to get all the rest done, then I go back at the engine.

Cheers

Time for an update:

Made new door panels. I used expanded PVC for the cards. I had an upholsterer make the stitching for my according to my layout.

I added black venting all around. and used the same pins also at the bottom, so there are no screws.

Next thing was to assemble the 993 mirrors. I hade to make a tool to compress the springs with pulls the mirror and base together. The flag mirrors got a hollow bolt, which can be screwed in or out. These push in and twist, which is impossible just by hand.

The next thing is the wiring for these mirrors. They are different from the flag mirrors. I had to add a relay in each mirror to make them work.

At least there is enough place for the relay.

Now that all is working, including the power locks, power windows and mirrors, I can install the door panels.

I made some door panel seals from thick plastic sheet.

I did not install the turning locking knob and no speakers in the doors. I wanted look nice and clean.

I also made some new pins for the door locks, so I can manual open them in case needed.

Cheers and happy Easter
Engelbert

Haha, I'm not setting the Bar, I am the bar. LOL, just joking

Anyway, here is a little update what I did since last post.

I decided to make a rear seat delete shelf, since nobody will ever sit there. This way I got a good place for the speakers. I didn't want to cut holes in the new door panels, and I didn't want any speakers in the rear self.

Test fitting before finalizing.

I made a little edge at the front, so things don't slip forward. The holes are for the speakers.

The next on the list was the shifter.

A piece of aluminum round bar

Machine it.

Some wood

Stack it, glue it.

Test fit it.

I also finally installed the instrument gauges and the steering wheel.

I will use a different wheel later, this is it for now. I'm looking for a 370mm wheel.

That's all for now.

Cheers
Engelbert

Jeez, just stop it. I have never seen such craftsmanship (from one man). I think I'll take my cars out to the cul-de-sac and set them on fire. . .

Here is a little preview what the front bumper will look like. Almost done.

I made some custom LED DRL/Turn signals. The parking lights will be implemented in the headlights.

Here with the grills installed.

Cheers

I finished the speaker install in the rear seat delete shelf. I used Infinity reference speakers. The speakers don't come with grilles, and I could not fine any grills, so I made some with the 3D printer.

Here are some pictures.

Next is the transmission. Will post soon about the disassembly, etc.

Cheers
Engelbert
