BMW E30 (e)valuation for a neighbor
Hello everyone, I'm not a BMW expert but my neighbor has a mother that is interested in selling her 1987 325es, it has 90k miles, looks really nice...but has an automatic. Not a shocker to have an ES with an auto I guess. Original owner and always maintained.
I have no idea what the value is, and neither does the neighbor. Any help for estimates would be appreciated. Check out the photos and let me know.

Looks really nice! I’d be seriously interested but too many project cars. I always wanted one of these to convert, with a 2.5 head, into a 2.7 with real torque/power, and a 5-speed conversion. Check bat.com. In the past year, several have sold for between $8-10K w/out auto trans. Depends on maintenance records and level of rust.

Hagerty Valuation tools, which does not ask about mileage lists:
#1 (Concours) - $21,000 #2 (Excellent) - $13,000 #3 (Good) - $9,200 #4 (Fair) - $3,100 with the caveat of -10% for Auto IIRC, these were the "torquey" motors (170ish ft-lb?) but light on power (120ish?). Great for commuting.. not as much fun for enthusiasts

I have had lot of E30's of all types. including an Eta with auto.
big plusses for this car based on the limited pictures are -relatively low miles -body looks to be in nice original shape -interior looks surprisingly good, although i see a crack in the dash -looks very stock. even the radio is original. - it is an "S". which means it got all the options when new. - original owner with i suspect all main records minuses. - its an eta. great for commuting, but low demand currently - it has a slush box. very low demand. but...it is pretty easy to convert to 5spd. - may still be R12 AC, if it works. the plusses far outweight the negatives. i would put it at $8-10K.

That's a very nice original car. I've had 2 e30s, an '86 325e and an '87 325is and would LOVE to have the '87 back, but it's a race car now - Champcar or WRL, I think.
I'll echo Marshall's comments and add one more minus - it's a "diving board bumper" car ('88 and older, I belive), and they are little less desirable than the smaller euro bumpers than came in '89.

There are a lot of those in Lemons racing, so they can go as cheap as $500. Condition matters a great deal and that one looks nice and having the original owner (and hopefully receipts) should drive it higher in the non restored valuation.
