Default Dunlop Direzza Sport Z1

Has anyone had any experience with these tires. Pretty tempting at those prices.

From what I've read lately the Bridgestone RE-11 is supposed to be even better. How do they spec out for your sizes?

The Bridgestones are more. $142 for 205/55R 16 and $155 for 225/50R 16. Just wondered if you had heard about the new Bridgestones.

Where did you get the feedback on the Bridgestones? Has anyone here had experance with them? I'm going to be running this set on the fat pig 964 and they will serve some street time on them as well.

Read about them on Rennlist and 6speed from trackers. The Bridgestones are a new release and are supposed to have great traction and long life. I know that is an oxymoron. I'll look for the link.

They have been the choice for autocrossers in street tire classes for the past two years as they offer tremendous grip (close to R888s), they come up to heat fast and are durable. However, as Larry stated, the RE-11s offer more grip and perform better, so pretty much all street tire competitors at the Nationals switched to RE-11s and won their classes.
Although I haven't used them myself, couple of people that used them in NASA DEs told me that they are similar to Falken Azenis RT-615s in that they don't last a whole DE session on heavy cars (3000+ lbs) and over heat, becoming greasy. Otherwise, they are great value UHP street tires.

Falken just released RT-615K tires that are supposed to outperform RE-11s, but the jury is out of course. Those are very cheap tires and offer really good grip. I used to use them during my first year with the Cayman, and they lasted a whole season for me, but I would get about 20 mins of decent DE session run out of them.

Another great alternative for the track is Kumho Ecsta XS, great value as well.

I found this one that has Damon from Tire Rack's assessment. There is an older thread that contains some tracker's experiences.

I know of the Dunlops only from AX exposure. Not sure if they'd be good or bad track tires. Would make nice "summer" tires perhaps for the "other" car
