There was a very interesting and thorough article on Bill in a past issue of European Car magazine; I've tried unsuccessfully for years to obtain permission from the magazine to reprint the article in der Vorganger; I'll try again. Perhaps I'll just scan it...
Also, I asked about donations and this was the reply: Should anybody want to make a donation, the Scotts offer two choices. One is the SPARC Foundation Fund (a 501(c)(3) started by Bill Scott.) This will support educational programs in Summit Point Motorsports Park's local community. In this case, make out a check to "EWVCF memo SPARC Foundation Fund," and mail the checks to SPARC, PO Box 190, Summit Point, WV 25446. Another choice is the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. In this case, click on http://www.nationalmssociety.org/donate/index.aspx.

Bill Scott - Sir Bill Scott
I managed to get to Bill's service in Upperville Thursday... The Church was packed..
(overflowing). Bill was obvioulsy an important fixture to the local area. There are a lot of sides to Bill Scott. Very nice service. Tributes on Bill's support of the local education/school support, Jens early days etc. called attention to the type of guy Bill was.(Stories) The second tribute was given by Brian Redman. (more stories....) Bill Scott may have won more championships than people know..... Just want to express the fact that I realized that I owe Bill Scott more than I ever knew. It dawned on me that, if it were not for choices that Bill made in his life, that I would most likely have never driven on a racetrack... (stop that lol now...) Think about it... Our closest track, if Summit was gone... is/was Watkins Glen/VIR, and maybe I would not have ever ventured out on that first event (HPDC) at Watkins Glen/VIR... Summit made it easy, we grew up with Summit Point.. Anyway, just wanted to express my thoughts...... "we are going to miss Bill". By the way, I learned some things about Bill I did not know. Quite a guy. Many may not know that he could have easily (and almost did) go into being an educator (professor) instead of going the race driver profession. Not to ramble, just want us all to salute, when a salute is warranted!! I'll be happy to share anything I learned with anyone. Bob
