Data analytics
After learning about data analytics from Evan's session at Summit last year and from Speed Secrets Weekly 302 article as a way to improve driving skills I invested in ApexPro. Used it at VIR this past weekend and imported the data to Track Attack in a matter of minutes. It's amazing how intuitive the software is and how easy it is to identify areas for improvement (real time for ApexPro). I'm curious if anyone else is using this set-up and if you are aware of a more cost effective solution?

Apex pro is a great tool though it is not for everyone. In very basic terms a visual GSum gauge do it tells you how much of your using the available grip.
Its a great price point for the power of it, ive seen many pair it with an aim solo so they combine the data and visual aspects. But inhave also heard some push too hard searching for all green leds....just like striving for the predictive lap. +/- best lap is one of my favorite tools as you can judge how each corner went regardless of overall lap time Anyone needs help, has questions, or wants to buy one something similar please let me know happy to help in any way or point you in the right direction if i cant help

Yes the +/- is useful. Here is an example of a 2:16 vs a 2:18 lap showing the major time differential between the 2 laps. Speed differential going into turn 1 at VIR is minor. The data shows a 1.4 sec difference driven by Apex scores and speed out of turn 1. This type of analysis is useful in the paddock to ID areas that need improvement.
The attached pdf is a screen shot of data from ApexPro files imported into Track Attack. In reviewing data from various laps I've come to appreciate how difficult it is to execute each turn with precision. https://dorkiphus.net/porsche/images...tor/attach.gif |

You'll know the first time you did a corner correctly (i.e. fast). You'll be scared you won't make it. You'll hold your breath. You'll feel the slip angle. Your adrenaline will go thru the roof. A holy sh*t moment.
Then you can look at the data and verify it. But you already knew. Now go do it again. And again. And again. Eventually you won't be scared anymore. Unconscious competence.

Well said. Combining the driving experience which you emphasize with data is an effective way to improve driving skills.
