Default GT3 Roll bar/Harness Question

Since I cannot leave well and not-so-well alone, I took the seats out of the new to us 996 GT3 since the harnesses are expired and I wanted to replace the seats.

Is the floor board on the 6GT3 behind the seat by the B pillar enforced? I have attached a picture of where the front of the roll bar is attached?

Also, the previous owner had the shoulder harnesses attached to loos as shown? It looks to me like the loops are in a pre-existing (i.e. factory stock) receivers. Is that correct?

I may wrap the belts around the bar, but just checking the options.

In re the picture on the left - Is that the rear "seat" area? If so, completely unhook them and wrap them around the bar. Oof.

You want the belting as short as possible.

That is how the previous owner had it. I am using the bar.

tru dat. There is not much room behind the seat, anyway.

gotta love dual purpose cars. I also watched a roll bar install in a 6GT3 and the front of the roll bar is held by the bolt, I am not sure the plate under the down tube provide much support.

Nader:
Post a pic of the bar. Looking at the pic of the foot, it looks like a DAS Sport bar. If so, when PCA allowed club racing with just a roll bar in the car's true stock class, the DAS Sport bar was legal. That foot piece attaches to the place where the stock lap belts attach.

Hi Mark,
Thanks for chiming in. There is no mark on the cage that I see, but I think I found a DAS Sport sticker while cleaning something (not sure what I did with it). It certainly looks like DAS.
I was hoping that the 6GT3 has enforced floor in the area below where the B-pilar leg is, but looking around more, I do not think so. The flat part to which the down tube is bolted does not sit/touch on the floor (until you go into a barrel role).

Interesting. Is it possible that the "feet" are L/R specific? I'm interested in following this thread because I have a DAS for my 997 en route.

Reviving this.

I just finished installing the DAS roll bar this weekend. I actually slit the carpet to allow the vertical piece of the foot sit flush against the body.

What's everyone's thoughts on using an eyebolt to replace the seat belt bolt, and utilizing that as an anchor point for the racing lap belts?

Nadir - What did you end up doing with that setup?

i used that on my ‘84 and SC. If there is enough room you can still keep the 3 point

Rob,

Eye bolt on the roll bar and Rennline hardware on the seat side is what I have.

I also apologize since I never remembered to look to see if I have a picture of attaching the sub-belt. I just used the same wrap method to loop it around sub-belt bar as we do the shoulder harness on the roll bar.
