Thanks Too Tall and VG for reco on PW County Forest - Neat riding and I am sure the out of the seat climbs in 90 - 95 degree weather will be good training for the hot weather DEs to come. Even P/R'd the 11.6 mile ride today by 3 minutes (mostly due to the cooler weather but I will take it).

Might start looking for a century in the fall.

Still in the witness protection plan for riding - protect myself from witnesses.
Excellent.
Well....I'm agnostic regarding pace and speed my man. If the company is right everything else works out.

Never got around to posting a picture of the finished project.

Two seasons in and she is going strong.

We picked up a C-list project bike for our youngest, James (15) last Sunday afternoon.

It was complete but needed everything:

He is not into riding but likes to hang with his peeps when they go for a cruise.

He wanted simple easy and gears for the climb.
Just about everything we needed was in the spare parts stash.
Ordered a front brake from Wally Mart but that’s about it.
He wants to add a bell

The result:

The Serotta looks great. Like the revisions to the paint and matching wheels. Looking good is almost as important as going fast.

Lollipops ftw! Nice projects. Been watching GCN YouTube shows. Thinking about a winter project if I find a suitable frame.

TY - We just got lucky with this one. Found the perfect frame for our project, right size with quality components. Paid way more for latest the project bike than usual because of that.

The lollipops are cool, I like them better than the Shimano’s that we have been using.

While digging into this latest project I discovered that bicycle manufacturing lead time is about 18 months from order to delivery. All of the shops are sold out due to the pandemic and most do not expect to be restocked until after the 2021 season. This includes spare parts, quite the demand for vintage take offs on C-list. We were able to recycle most of the spares from the Cannondale build.

We ended up swapping saddles with the Serotta, the Brooks just worked with the new build.

Nothing happened to the bell, just didn’t come with one.

This is the first time he expressed interest in anything having to do with a bicycle.

Definitely going to add a bell to make him happy and try to keep him engaged in cycling

Lollipops are great for older knees. Maybe not the best to put down power.

If you need skinny saddles, I have stock Bontrager 140mm and 145mm Selle San Marco you can have.

I doubt I can find a fixer upper like the C'dale you found. Only stock in local Spokes are $3k and up bikes.

I took James out for a quick ride yesterday, just to acclimate the boy with his new bike. He is going to need some practice before we turn him loose

We are good with saddles, I may eventually try and find a black Brooks for the single speed just because I find them very comfortable.

It took a bit of digging to find a bike in his size but they are around, keep looking.

Maybe post up a wtb with a description of what you are after in case someone stumbles across a good project.
