If you dont have light over your work you'll have shadows everywhere and unless you stand under a light you need a headlamp anyway. Lots of sources of led panels, you can spend a lot or a little.

Since Fritz is as old as me I have no idea why he's asking this question lol.

I just bought a 4 post and SGS services in Manassas put it in. 703 795 4435. Very convenient as I bought it from Greg Smith equipment and they ship it to a transfer station where SGS picked it up brought it to the house and installed it. If you buy direct and try to have it delivered to the house they tell you you need a forklift to unload it so not an option. Very happy with the service and install price (850.00)

Hey now! You've got me beat by at least a month or two.

It wasn't a question about needing a lot of light because I fully agree with the need. It was more about do those great looking flat panel lights have limitations on the their spread that require them to be spaced every 6 inches? I've got about 500 sq/ft of 11 foot high garage space and don't want to go broke trying to cover the whole thing. I was looking at 6 or 8 of the fancy strip lights but like the look of those flush mounted ones.

Sorry I missed the questions. I have 40 LED 2X2 panels that are about 1" deep mounted on the ceiling and they are broken into 2 switches- every other light. The older your eyes get, the more you will appreciate the lighting and lack of shadows. I actually considered placing some round LED floods with exterior tough lenses in the floor under the lift but didn't. Also, the lift is centered in the 2 car side of the 3-car garage. I wanted to be able to have room around the car on the lift for walking and working.

When I bought my mid-rise lift (1000 lbs, one piece) OldTee (remember him?) and I drove there in his pickup and they loaded it in. We took it off in my driveway with an engine hoist and wheeled it into the garage. Easy peasy!

Do your young knees and back a favor and get a lift while you are young. Your old self will thank you every time you work on a car. I love my lift and use it a couple times per week.

I was talking to a friend about this the other night. I used to work outside, then under a carport. I feel pretty damn fortunate to have my setup. Funny actually, never thought it would be this great. But of course, when I was younger I used what I had and did more work!
