Dude! How big do you think they'll get if we cranked it all the way to 11? Awesome!

One lucky mofo. Watch where the man hole cover lands and the damage it does to the pavement.

"...learnt a painful lesson about firecrackers"...? Uh isn't the lesson more about the shitty, unmaintained and methane-filled, Chinese sewers?? Unless that was a stick of dynamite.

Wow. And it even looks like the fuse alone may have ignited the sewer gas. You can see a brief flash on the ground after the manhole mayhem, which I'm guessing is the actual firecracker finally exploding. Those folks were damn lucky....I hope they ran off immediately to buy some lottery tickets.

When I was a kid living in DC near Kalorama Park, we heard an explosion one day and run up the street to Columbia Road, where we found a geyser of flame & smoke erupting from a manhole. It sounded like a jet engine. The flame was as big around as the manhole, and seemed to rise 3 or 4 into the air. Some sort of underground electrical transformer had blown. Sadly...no phone or camera on hand back then.

I just have this image stuck in my head of an eight year old Tony standing on the banana seat of his bicycle leaned up against the telephone pole reaching up to pull the fire alarm just to watch the fire trucks show up.

Saw this on Reddit. Snow plow guy hit something. As a noob welder, my work coming apart like this is what I think about every time I stick two pieces of metal together.

Add to that this type of plow is intended to be driven at higher speeds so the snow curls up and is thrown out to the side beyond the edge of the mould board.

Skid pads, which set the hight when plowing, look worn down to the plates. This increases the chance of hitting a transition. This is not a small PU truck mounted type plow and was likely on a tag axle type DT. The kick out springs can only take so much and if the plow hits something taller than what the up/back release is the plow tries to plow up whatever it hit with the power behind the truck pushing it. At some point even the steel is overcome good welds or not.

I lifted the back wheels of a 2500 silverado king cab a couple feet in the air when I hit a hidden curb corner at perhaps 7 mph. I thought I bent the truck but other than a busted stalk type headlight and a rain of salt from the spreader it was OK.
