I don't know if this should go here or in the fail thread...
Vettel pulled a bone-headed move. I don't have video of it, but they keep replaying it on the F1 broadcast. He had a decent chance of making a pass on Webber, his teammate, and ended up taking himself out and knocking Webber back from first to third. Dramatic spinning, smoke from the tires, and finally...tempers flaring. On a different note, I'm stoked to be moving to Austin!! -Michael

And it looks like the McLaren guys are going to do the same thing!
Schumacher might get a podium finish.......that would be sweet!

I just noticed how short Hammy is compared to Button and Webber. Nicole must tower over him. I've never seen them side-by-side.

Both Webber and Vettel deserve some credit for the coming together. Vettel was alongside when Webber tried to squeeze him and Vettel tried to get back on line before he was clear of Webber. The fact that the team commanded Wbber to use a slower fuel conservation program while allowing Vettel to run full bore certainly contributed to the two getting together too.

Kudos to Webber for keeping a cool head during the post-race interview. I'm not really a fan of Webber or Red Bull for that matter (although this is quickly changing), but I have to give him the nod for being a good team player while under the lights.

I agree about Webber. Vettel made a bonehead move. His impatience reminds me of Paul Tracy, so aggressive that it causes more problems than results. If I were team manager for RB, there would be consequences for Vettel that would make him think long and hard about his impulsiveness.

Kudos, too, to Webber. I think he handled it brilliantly in the post-race interview. I never really gave him much thought before, but he seems to have elevated his game this year. I know the equipment this year is good, but he seems to have improved his "race craft" this year. I find him to be fast, but courteous & safe too. His maturity doesn't hurt, either.
Whereas I personally consider Vettel to be at fault, I understand that Vettel might have seen an opportunity if/when Webber was instructed to go into fuel save mode. But......I saw it as Webber driving a safe but passable line, and leaving it up to Vettel to get around. Vettel expected too much...and paid the price. I don't think there was any reason for Webber to hand the pass to Vettel on a shiny platter. There's been considerable talk about Webber getting instructions to go into "fuel save" mode. Yet, there doesn't seem to be any radio/audio about it. Did the broadcasters simply miss the transmission? Or is some info conveyed non-verbally? Was there a pit board conveyance? Did Vettel see it, too, and tried to take it as a gift from management? If via pit board, I guess I'm simply surprised it wasn't caught by one of the cameras? Or was it?? Also, any one else peeved how F1 censors YouTube posts? And yet they fail to post much of anything relevant on thier own F1 website. Is the censoring limited to "re-broadcast" of something taped from the TV airing? Or does F1 also restrict postings of video taken by spectators? F1......the classic love/hate relationship....... ![]() Ok......I did happen find this video link (until it's shut down....): http://sweetf1.blogspot.com/2010/05/...-pictures.html A good example, IMHO, of one those thousand words pics...
